Fleas and Ticks

It is important that you protect your pet from ticks and fleas to not only keep them happy, but safe. Ticks and fleas can carry a lot of diseases can can make your pet uncomfortable and sick.

By preventing fleas and ticks, or also prevent:

  • Hot Spots

  • Ehrlichia

  • Lyme Disease

  • Skin Infections

  • Fleas and Ticks in your home

  • Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever

  • Biting Adult Fleas

  • Flea Allergies

  • Tapeworms

The prevention of fleas and ticks in significantly cheaper then trying to rid of an invasion. Between the cost of treating your pet and bombing your house, things can get expensive fast. Even bombing your entire house will not guarantee that the bugs won't come back.

Most of the flea population are eggs, larvae and pupae. These younger stages do not have to potential to spread diseases but it is important to eliminate them before them become adults (Flea).

Basic ways of caring for your pet includes things like: combing them thoroughly every time they come in from outside, vacuum a lot, wash your pets sleeping area, and use flea and tick prevention shampoo (Controlling). It is also important to know what products work best for your dog. Every pet is different so talk to your veterinarian first.
